Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2 July 2026
1. About This Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Ovum Pty Ltd ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on inaskovum.com (the "Site"). It supplements our Privacy Policy and should be read alongside it.
Ovum is a dairy herd breeding analytics service. Cookies on this Site serve two purposes: keeping you signed in to the farm dashboard, and helping us understand how herd managers use the platform so we can improve it.
2. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the Site to recognise your device across page loads and sessions. We also use related local-storage mechanisms (for example, to record that you have acknowledged this notice). Cookies can be "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" cookies (stored for a defined period).
3. How We Use Cookies
The Site uses the following categories of cookies:
| Category | Purpose and examples | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Session management, sign-in state, CSRF protection tokens, cookie-notice acknowledgement flag (ovm_cookie_notice). Required for the platform to function. Cannot be disabled. |
Session to 12 months |
| Analytics | Self-hosted, anonymised usage measurement: pages visited, feature interactions, session duration. Used to understand how herd managers navigate the platform and where friction exists. No cross-site tracking. No advertising use. | Up to 13 months |
| Marketing | Not currently used. | N/A |
4. Notice and Choice
This Site operates on a notice-only basis for cookies, consistent with the requirements of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the APPs as they apply to cookies and online tracking. A cookie notice banner is displayed on your first visit. By continuing to use the Site you acknowledge our use of cookies as described above.
You can choose to block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings, though doing so may prevent sign-in from working and may affect platform functionality.
5. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies may be set by third-party service providers acting on our behalf (for example, cloud infrastructure providers or analytics tools). These providers are contractually required to use the data only to provide services to us and not for their own purposes. We do not permit third parties to use cookies on this Site for their own advertising or profiling.
6. Managing Cookies
- To re-open the cookie notice, click the "Cookie preferences" link in the Site footer.
- To block or delete cookies, use your browser's privacy or settings menu. For instructions for common browsers, see aboutcookies.org.
- Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent sign-in and most platform features from working.
7. Changes and Contact
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any change. For questions, contact:
